Version 0.2.0 and what lies ahead


Hello, since Juice Jam finally ended, I'm making a small update and putting on the table what's next for this game.

Changelog

  • New items : Fang, Broken Armor Plate, Book of Wonders.
  • The procgen system has been reworked, it should not create isolated rooms anymore.
  • Floor tiles have been added.
  • UI controls have been reworked, they should work whether you're using a controller, keyboard or mouse to interact with the buttons.
  • Added a flash to enemies hit for more feedback.
  • A bug caused the Samurai to not initiate its first phase correctly, solved.
  • Flowers could leave their poison attack even when dead, solved.
  • Rose counter didn't deal damage, solved.

What's next?

My performance at Juice Jam was quite underwhelming to be honest, I expected to do better. But eh, it goes into the bag of humbling jams. I will still push through with this game, up until having at least double the content it currently has. Here's what to expect in upcoming updates:

  • New floors, up to the 50th with the final boss. Biome ideas are the following: icy caves, magma caves, light/dark environment, mechanical biome and mythic caves.
  • New items.
  • New skins and gamemodes.
  • Lore bits.
  • Potentially mini bosses to diversify the 5 floors experience.
  • More enemy types per biome.
  • Usual polish and fixes.

For the next update, I'm mostly thinking about a couple new items, the ice biome, and perhaps a new skin too, so stay tuned!
